Alexi 8bit is a German-American multi-instrumentalist musician and producer based in Austin, TX with a sound best described as “heartfelt indie pop.” With her compelling voice and sturdy keyboard, the jazz-inspired artist performs solo at lounges and other intimate venues to bring vulnerable and empowering music to her audience. She performs with her full ‘8bit band’ at bars and music venues around Austin. Alexi produced and released her debut EP Dressed in Blue in October of  2022, described by The Austin Chronicle as "a time capsule of her own creative metamorphosis," "diving deeper into her artistry with gliding chord progressions and warm, arcing vocals." She most recently released her second EP Softy in May 2024, which has been received with open arms by the dedicated following she has gained through her two years as a solo musician in the Austin music scene.
As a young child, Alexi discovered her love for singing, developed a passion for songwriting, and carried it with her into adulthood. In her teenage years, Alexi began to take vocal lessons which empowered her to take on more performance opportunities to gain onstage experience. Along her songwriting journey, Alexi learned how to play the keyboard to complement her written lyrics. Through picking up the keyboard, Alexi also discovered a passion for teaching herself how to play new instruments. An autodidact, Alexi taught herself how to play the piano, bass guitar, and ukulele, among other instruments.
In a live solo setting, Alexi brings a playful yet commanding presence to the stage. She performs original material and a selection of songs that accentuate her lower register. Alexi’s honest and incisive lyrics illuminate the importance and beauty of vulnerability. She utilizes her keyboard as both a percussive and melodic instrument to tell stories through song.
Through her various music projects, Alexi has performed at some of Austin’s most treasured music venues, such as the Empire Control Room & Garage, Hole in the Wall, Cheer Up Charlies, and Sahara Lounge.
